Asian Double Eyelid (Blepharoplasty)
More than half of all Asians are born without creased folds in their upper eyelids (monolids) which make their eyes seem droopy and half-closed. Some patients report vision problems due to their overhanging eyelids. The goal of the Asian double eyelid surgery is to remove the excess skin and fat of the “heavy eyelids” to achieve a more energetic, wide open, smiley expression eyes by creating creased folds.
The Asian double eyelid surgery is one of the most popular aesthetic plastic surgeries among Asians. It does not alter their ethnic appearance but enhance the eyes to look brighter, more youthful, and more energetic.
Dr. Kun Kim is an expert facial plastic surgeon specializing in Asian double eyelid surgery. He has performed over thousands of Asian double eyelid surgeries. He is highly qualified to handle the unique challenges associated with such an intricate procedure. This type of surgery has potential for complications and pitfalls that many inexperienced surgeons may cause because of the numerous differences that exist between Western and Asian eyes. He understands the anatomy of Korean, Chinese, Japanese, and other Asian eyes and how they differ from people of European, Asian Indian or African heritage.

In his office surgical suite, Dr. Kun Kim performs the Asian double eyelid surgery in about an hour. He offers the suture method, partial incision, and full incision technique. Upon consultation, Dr. Kim will determine which method is best suited for you.
