Forehead & Browlift
Many factors (stress, age, gravity, and sun-damage) may diminish facial skin elasticity causing a wrinkled forehead and/or furrowed brow. One may appear tired or angry, an expression that does not adequately reflect his/her actual disposition. A forehead lift and brow lift entails pulling the skin taut to create a smooth forehead, and a more relaxed, cheerful appearance and may be performed alone or with eyelid surgery, facelift, or laser treatment for optimal effect.
Procedure
Incisions may be made across the top of the scalp, hidden within the hair, to remove or modify wrinkle- causing facial muscles and excess skin. Another technique is to make an incision above/around the eyebrows to raise sunken brows and help lift sagging eyelids. Dr. Kun Z. Kim at Kim Facial Plastic Surgery performs this procedure in about 1 ½ hours in our state-of-the-art surgery room. The forehead and brow lift procedure is performed under local anesthesia with twilight sedation.
Post Treatment
Icing is required the first 48 hours to alleviate swelling. Pain medication may be prescribed. Sutures are removed within 10-14 days. Strenuous activity should be avoided for at least three weeks.
