Tretinoin is an all-trans retinoic acid that is comprised of synthetic and natural occurring Vitamin A. What does all that scientific mumbo-jumbo mean?
Tretinoin was originally developed as an acne treatment in 1960s. While Researchers were studying patients for improvements on acne, they realized these patients had an unexpected side effect...GREAT SKIN. Under well controlled clinical trials, patients experienced improvements with wrinkles, pigmentation, and roughness, as well as in the overall severity of photoaging.
How does it work?
Tretinoin encourages rapid epidermal turnover, so skin releases dead cells faster than normal, revealing a fresh, glowing complexion. Think of it as a very strong peel. At the same time, it boosts production of skin's vital collagen and remodels elastin, which breaks down with natural aging. This topical solution produces significant changes in epidermal and dermal skin cells and tissues.
How can you get it?
Tretinoin is available by prescription only. Dr. Kun Kim will analyze your skin and determine if you are a good candidate. Be sure to let him know if you are allergic to fish gel, have eczema, have a sunburn, if you are pregnant, and/or breast-feeding.
