What is a Liquid Facelift?

Patients who want to fight the signs of aging without the downtime of surgery may consider a Liquid Facelift to achieve youthful results. Dr. Kim, who is an expert in facial injections, offers many options that give you the beautiful look without going under the knife.

A liquid facelift combines wrinkle fillers with wrinkle relaxers to create a younger, smoother appearance. Wrinkle fillers (injectable dermal fillers) such as Radiesse, Juvederm, Versa, Boletero and Restylane are injected into the skin to plump up and fill in hollow areas. These are commonly used for under the eyes, in the cheeks, nasolabial folds, and lips. Wrinkle relaxers such as BOTOX and Xeomin are injected to relax the muscles under the skin, which helps eliminate wrinkles on the surface. Common areas for these products include forehead lines, Crow’s Feet and laugh lines. With a combination of the filler and relaxer, a rejuvenated facial appearance can be achieved.

What all can a liquid facelift resolve?

  • Restores volume to the face

  • Gently lifts and soften facial features

  • Reduces wrinkles, creases, lines or folds

  • Restores bumpy skin imperfections

  • Plumps hollowed features of the face as a result of aging

  • Fills under eye bags and dark circles

  • Lifts and reduce the appearance of jowls

  • Plumps up cheeks

  • Restores volume lost in chin

  • Lifts the corners of the mouth

  • Fills in bumps and irregularities of the nose

  • Plumps up thinning lips

During consultation, Dr. Kim will assess various aspects of the face and determine the injectables needed to resolve areas of concern. The areas of the face will be sterilized with alcohol and sometimes numbing cream will be applied (though this step is not normally necessary). Using a syringe with a fine needle, the product(s) will be injected into the problem areas until the desired fullness has been achieved. Most patients are very pleased with their instant results and often continue to get more injections as needed. Muscle relaxers such as Botox and Xeomin take a few days after the procedure to see the results. Though results are not permanent, most liquid face lifts last about 3 months to a year, and can be a intermediate solution prior to actually deciding to go surgery. Often times, patients will continue their liquid face lift procedures without opting for surgery at all.

The price for liquid facelift will vary greatly depending on what and how much is being injected. Normally the liquid facelift cost is much less than an actual facelift with less risk.

All wrinkle relaxers and fillers on the market today are FDA-approved and are safe to use. Though not common, some have bruising after injections, which can be covered up by makeup and should clear up in a few days. It's important to discuss the differences between each product so that a precise treatment plan can be formulated to meet the patient’s specific goals. In addition, it's extremely important to get your injections from a board certified doctor who is trained for these injections. Dr. Kim provided thousands of injections and is a double board certified plastic surgeon with over 20 years of experience.
